- ATH noun
All-time high. The highest price a coin has reached. Most trench coins print theirs in the first hour.
- ATL noun
All-time low. For a fresh coin, sometimes also launch price.
- bid noun / verb
Buying interest, or the act of buying. A coin with a bid has people willing to buy dips. To bid something is to buy it.
- chop noun / verb
Sideways, directionless price action that bleeds traders through small losses on both sides.
- copy trading noun
Automatically mirroring another wallet's buys and sells. Works until the wallet you copy notices and starts using you as exit liquidity.
- dead coin noun
A coin with no volume, no bid and no community left. The default end state of most launches.
- dip noun
A price drop that buyers hope is temporary. Buying the dip works until the dip is the rest of the chart.
- dump noun / verb
Heavy selling that pushes price down hard. Also the act of selling a big position all at once.
- dust noun
A position or wallet balance so small it is basically worthless. Often what is left after a rug.
- entry noun
The price or market cap at which you bought. Trench brag currency.
- FDV noun
Fully diluted valuation: price times the maximum supply. For most Pump.fun coins the whole supply already exists, so FDV and market cap are the same.
- floor noun
A price level a coin keeps bouncing off, where buyers seem to step in. Floors are opinions until they break.
- god candle noun
A single huge green candle that sends price up in one move. Usually after you sold.
- higher low noun
A dip that bottoms above the previous dip. The chart pattern trench traders look for to say a coin is not dead yet.
- initials noun
Your initial investment. Taking out initials means selling enough to recover what you put in and holding the rest for free.
- liquidity noun
How much money sits in a coin's trading pool. Low liquidity means big price moves on small trades and trouble getting out.
- market cap noun
Price times supply. For memecoins it is the headline number everyone quotes, even though the money you can actually exit with is set by liquidity.
- MEV noun
Maximal extractable value. Profit taken by reordering or inserting transactions around yours, for example a sandwich attack on a high-slippage buy.
- moonbag noun
A small part of a position kept after taking profit, in case the coin goes much higher. Costless emotionally if you took out initials.
- nuke noun / verb
A fast, deep price crash, often from a large holder dumping or a rug. To nuke is to crash like that.
- pump noun / verb
A sharp rise in price, organic or coordinated. Not to be confused with Pump.fun, though the two show up together a lot.
- retrace noun / verb
A pullback after a run up, before deciding the next direction. Healthy coins retrace and hold; dead ones keep retracing.
- revival noun
A coin that was presumed dead and comes back, often after a CTO, a new narrative or a whale buying in.
- rotate verb
Move money out of one coin and into another, usually from a slower play into whatever is moving now.
- roundtrip noun / verb
Watching a profitable position return to breakeven or a loss without taking profit.
- second leg noun
A coin's second big move up after an initial run and a long cooldown. Everyone is waiting for one; few coins get it.
- shrimp noun
A tiny holder. Self-deprecating word for trading small.
- slippage noun
The difference between the price you expect and the price you get, caused by thin liquidity or a moving market. High slippage settings get you in and sometimes get you robbed.
- smart money noun
Wallets with a strong track record that people follow and copy. Calling a wallet smart money is a label, not a guarantee.
- stop loss noun
An order that sells automatically if price falls to a set level. Useful on liquid coins; on thin memecoins it can fill far below where you set it.
- take profit noun / verb
Selling some or all of a position at a gain. TP for short. The trenches consensus is that nobody does it enough.
- volume noun
The amount traded over a period. Real volume shows interest; bot volume shows someone paying to look busy.
- whale noun
A wallet holding or trading a large amount relative to the coin. In the trenches a whale can be someone with 50 SOL.
- wick noun
The thin line above or below a candle showing a price that was touched briefly. A long top wick is everyone selling into a spike.
